Technology: Positive, Negative, or Neutral
Humans are good, terrible, or neutral; technology is neither. Any technology is a tool and humans can use it in good, bad and neutral ways. Technology aids in broadening the reach of human behavior's effects. Humans possess a unique aptitude in choosing between good and bad.
Humans have the potential to evolve into either the most destructive species or the most honorable. No other species have this degree of freedom to alter the world in positive or harmful ways knowingly within a short time. Who is to blame—technology or people—for the nuclear blasts in Japan? The deliberate conduct serves as proof that people are capable of using technology for mass destruction as opposed to producing energy for massive building or development projects. Every single technology has the potential to be destructive or to be of enormous help.
Blaming technology for our behavior is an attempt to escape from our unethical deeds. It is true that technology can propagate false information or incite people to act destructively, but the same technology can also be used to fact-check the information, identify harmful behavior, and take positive action in its place. Although technology is not sentient, we are, and as conscious beings, we are accountable for everything that has happened and will happen in the future.
Technology has given immense benefits to this world and at the same time great damage. Technology has demonstrated how it may be employed for both bad and good intentions. It has exposed us to both the good and bad sides of humanity.
